Here in our FAQ you will find the answers to some of our most common questions.
Accommodation
Believe it or not, but sometimes it gets really hot here in Gysinge, so we have installed fans in all our hotel rooms during the summer.
If you need a fan during other parts of the year, please let the reception know and they’ll arrange a fan for you.
Opening hours reception, regular hours:
- All days 7 am – 10.30 pm
At other times, your calls will be forwarded to one of our sister hotels who will help to answer questions.
PS. During low season (Dec-Feb) we sometimes close earlier on Sundays.
Yes, you must be at least 18 years old to check in alone at Gysinge Herrgård.
Some of our rooms have bed sofas, others are big enough to add an extra bed, the cost is SEK 200/person including breakfast. However, there are also family rooms in the manor building and rooms for three or four persons in economy standard. Please contact reception for more information and to discuss what would suit you best.
There is a ramp to the reception in Herrgården, as well as hotel rooms, conference rooms and a disabled toilet on the entrance floor. There is also a smaller lift in the Manor building, but unfortunately the rooms are not fully adapted.
Welcome to the reception at Herrgården for check-in, no earlier than 3 pm. If you plan to arrive after 10.30 pm, you need to contact us in advance to get a code to enter.
Check-out takes place no later than 11 am, please contact the reception if you want to check out later – if possible, you can keep the room for one or a few extra hours.
Activities
Yes, Gysinge is surrounded by nature and excellent tracks for jogging, running and walking just outside our front door. With Färnebofjärden National Park around the corner nature lovers will adore this place. So don’t forget your running shoes.
Gysinge Herrgård is located by the river Dalälven and the Gysinge rapids, and you can swim both summer and winter when staying with us. In summer, enjoy a morning swim in Dalälven in front of the Manor House from our beautiful jetty, or at the sandy beach a few hundred metres from the hotel. In winter, a refreshing swim is enjoyed by many in the cold waters.
Events
Yes, we always produce special packages when we have larger events here at Gysinge Herrgård. Most often, the packages include accommodation, dinner, breakfast buffet and show ticket, of course. You can book online on our website, or contact reception for booking.
Food & beverages
Yes, you are welcome to Restaurant Orangeriet (the Conservatory) and to Café Udden. Food is prepared with local ingredients and love from our chefs.
In the restaurant, lunch is offered daily throughout the year, with menus being changed every week. In the evening, an à la carte menu as well as set dinner packages are offered. (see opening times under the “Eating” tab). Don’t forget to reserve a table in the evening!
In the summer, the Café Udden, located just by the rapids in the river Dalälven, is open for lighter meals, pastries, icecream as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Yes, all our rates include our delicious breakfast buffet. There is all you need to get off to a good start, eg scrambled eggs and bacon, homemade muesli, pastries and fruit. Of course, there are lactose and gluten-free options – please let us know when booking so we have everything at home for your visit.

Gysinge is Norrland’s southernmost outpost and offers wild rapids and a unique natural heritage. Gysinge is located along road 272 from Uppsala, in the municipality of Sandviken. Distances to the nearest major cities are:

Parking
Yes, you are welcome to park in the large car park, or in one of the smaller car parks around the park. The car park is free of charge.
Feel free to charge your electric car when you visit us. In our parking lot, we provide 18 car chargers that are best suited for those of you who have time to charge the car for a longer period of time, for example while you are sleeping in one of our comfy rooms.

Our poles have a charging capacity of 22 kW, and the price varies. To use our charging stations, you need the ChargeNode app, which also contains information about the price. Through the app, you can activate and control the charging in a simple way. It is also in the app that you manage the payment. Ask our staff if you have any queries.
Payment
We are a cashless hotel, and you are welcome to pay with the most common cards and Swish throughout the facility.
Pets
Yes, we are a pet-friendly hotel, and welcome both cats and dogs in some rooms and buildings. Accommodation is available in all room categories, from Manor Rooms to Economy Rooms. In Restaurant Orangeriet there are a couple of tables dedicated to dog owners.
As Gysinge Herrgård is located in a park, there are plenty of places to walk your furry friend. Please contact reception for booking. There is an extra cost for cleaning the room: SEK 250/stay.
